Den 7 visited the construction site of the new N.C. Heart & Vascular Hospital @ Rex for our Engineer pin.
It was a great site visit planned by Den 7 parent Jason Tobias. Each year our Webelos II Scouts take part in a 3-day, 2-night trip to Patriots Point and the USS Yorktown in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
3...2...1...Ignition...Liftoff
About 30 Scouts took part in the annual Rocket Day event. They finished building and decorating their rockets prior to launching them into the wild blue yonder. We were fortunate to have a beautiful day with a light breeze, allowing for an outstanding recovery rate. Nine Scouts participated in the 2015 Raingutter Regatta on Saturday, June 27th. They built their boats out of foam, skewers and paper plates. A round robin format determined the champion. James Eyster graciously hosted Den 6 and Den 7 at his home Sunday night to complete requirements for Handyman. The boys learned to change a tire, change a lightbulb on a car, check the oil, and make repairs to a bicycle. They also got to check out a classic Buick, '67 Mustang and '84 Ferrari (think Magnum P.I.), along with a Porsche and Mercedes-Benz. 13 Scouts and their familes participated in the Occoneechee Counci Cub-o-Ree. It rained but that didn't dampen the boys' enthusiasm for the activities. Archery, crafts, bounce houses, a ropes course and a presentation by the NC Zoo were the highlights. Had a roaring fire on Saturday night despite the rain. |
